Harald Holt

Harald is the leader of the team and when he isn’t trying to herd us into some kind of order, he is very busy with the day-to-day running of the University College. Harald has extensive experience in education, the environment and ICT with the United Nations and industry organisations such as Telenor. He has worked all over the world as part of his United Nations work and is particularly interested in the ways in which we can connect with the environment, and each other, on a global scale.

Prof. Katherine Blashki (Ph.D)

Kathy is the leader of the Animation and Games programs. She can usually be found with her pink Nintendo DS in one hand and her Wacom tablet in the other! Kathy is originally from Australia and has worked with the creative industries, specifically Games and Animation, in both Australia and internationally to create educational programs that meet the creative industries’ needs. When she isn’t smashing up cars like a speed demon in the latest GTA, Kathy can be found working on her research in games-based education and technologies such as Motion Capture. Oh, and she really loves bright and shiny things, so watch out if you have any new technologies!

Prof. Iain Sutherland (Ph.D)

Iain is the leader of the Digital Forensics program. Iain is originally from Wales and brings his teaching and research know-how on computer crime investigation and computer forensics to NUC. Iain has worked at the University of Glamorgan but the really exciting stuff is his work with organisations such as the Police. He is our very own CSI investigator as he has carried out a number of investigations, providing expert witness reports and giving expert testimony in court.

Ernst Sundt

As one of the Pioneers in Norway when it comes to designing, developing and delivering programs in advanced IT Security and digital investigations, (he was working in this area long ago in the previous millennium!!) it will not surprise you that he knows one or two things about hacking! Ernst has been behind many educational demonstrations of hacking, cracking and other technical ICT stuff, and when you study with us at NUC you might just be lucky enough to be part of one of his “events”. When he is not having fun with encrypting and all that secret ICT stuff he can be found hard at work on his research into forensic awareness and skills enhancements specifically designed for network administrators.

Frode Roarson

With a Masters in Computer Forensics from Glamorgan University, Frode is an integral part of the teaching and research team and has worked hard to help make the Bachelor degree an exciting and innovative program.

When he is not busy working on research projects, Frode tries to fit in study for his PhD in Digital Forensics. Frode has been involved in numerous research projects that sound like something you might hear about on CSI. We would love to tell you what they are but they are graded S for Secret!!!
